Trip to Rimini

After a busy day traveling in Florence on Saturday, we packed up our bags (after sleeping in a little of course!) and got on a train to Rimini. Rimini is on the East coast of Italy and considered a vacation spot off of the Adriatic Sea. The homes there were absolutely gorgeous as we walked down the streets to the beach. It was so nice to see palm trees, the water, sand...a real "beach resort" in the middle of all of this studying in Reggio Emilia!

Walking down the main street in Rimini headed towards the beach.

One of the gorgeous homes we passed by - imagine THIS as a summer home!

When we got to the beach, we were a little taken back. There were people EVERYWHERE! Everyone rents umbrellas and beach chairs from the water, all the way up the sand to the street. Sue put it that it was "us and a million of our closest friends" hanging out! It was HOT - but all I wanted more than anything was to lay in the sun and bake a little!

Where we rented our chairs and umbrella for the day. 18 Euros for 3 chairs and an umbrella.

Liz and I ventured into the water for a little. The water was SO warm, literally it was bath water. Wasn't really the cleanest, but it still was nice. The water was very shallow going far out, and people were as far as you can see both in the water and on the beach.

Looking onto the beach from in the water - it's a huge resort town.

We ate a little pizza lunch, laid in the sun, then headed back home on a train. A perfect relaxing Sunday before going back to the grind for school on Monday. Got a little color on my cheeks - something I desperately wanted after being indoors so much for class. Feels good!
